Introduction 


The Cypriot Youth and Culture CIC aims to bring the Cypriot diaspora together through art and culture. Our goal is to create an inclusive multi-communal platform to nurture arts and culture from the diaspora. We will connect diaspora artists, creatives and academics with a diaspora audience, and we are commited to sahring Cypriot culture with the wider community.

Focusing on the younger generations in the diaspora our activities will involve Performances, Events, Talks, Exhibitions and Workshops

We will be leading the way in inviting Internationally acclaimed artists and musicians to connect with a Cypriot audience in the Midlands


What will our
activities look like?


Live music

CYC will develop an exciting program of live performances. Our goal is to host Musicians from all genres who are connected to Cyprus. We will also seek to engage with musicians based in Cyprus and develop opportunities for them to perform in the Midlands    

Other Isles
Building on the success of the twice-funded Others Isles project CYC will now continue to program and develop this event. Other Isles is a celebration of creatives, artists and culture from the Cypriot and Maltese diaspora. The first two events were funded as part of the 2023 Birmingham Festival for the Common Wealth Games.

Theatre & Poetry  
The CYC will be programming a series of acclaimed Spoken Word Artists and Theatre productions Inc. Anthony Anaxagorou, Jamie Thrasivoulou, Steph Kleanthous, etc.

Talks
The programme of talks will bring esteemed historians, artists and academics to talk about their work and the wider themes in Cypriot history and culture. Inc. Marios Psaras (Formerly of the High Commission), Dr. Pippa Steele, University of Cambridge. Professor Emeritus, Demetrios Michaelides, etc.

Workshops
CYC will be programming a number of creative workshops. These will include music, poetry, art, book binding, photography and many more.
